Learning Connections Hamilton (LCH) presents the annual Leaders in Learning Awards at our annual Leaders in Learning Event in June.

Nominations are open from February 1st to April 15th each year.

The Lynne Livingstone Memorial Award

This award is presented by the staff of LCH in memory of a friend and dedicated supporter of Learning Connections Hamilton. This award will be given to those who exemplify the dedication, support and caring nature of Lynne Livingstone.

The Kim Brooks Memorial Lifelong Learning Award (sponsored by friends of LCH)

This award is in memory of an outstanding supporter of lifelong learning and a friend of LCH.  This award is open to anyone 18 years and older, living in the city of Hamilton, or to any agency/business working within Hamilton, who has a long and outstanding commitment to lifelong learning and has been

  • involved in lifelong learning as a participant, or
  • a driving force of lifelong learning programs in the workplace, or
  • the driving force of lifelong learning programs for the public

The Hamilton Spectator Adult Learner Award

This award celebrates the achievements of adult learners who exemplify the spirit of lifelong learning. These learners must be 19 years of age or older and meet one of the following criteria

  • a current learner who shows commitment, leadership and success in moving towards their goal
  • a former learner who has shown success since leaving the program
  • a group of current learners who show commitment leadership and success as a group

Each Get SET (Skills, Education and Training) program in Hamilton can nominate one learner.  All learners will be recognized at the Leaders in Literacy Event.

The Excellence in Adult Education Practitioner Award (sponsored by friends of LCH)

This award is given in recognition of outstanding commitment and dedication by a paid practitioner in a Get SET (Skills, Education and Training) program within Hamilton.

The CIBC Murphy Investment Group Individual Early Literacy Education Award

This award was established in 2006 to recognize excellence by an individual involved in early literacy education (ages 0-6).

This award was established in 2006 to recognize excellence by an agency involved in early literacy education (ages 0-6).
